Harry Potter Birthday

Late last night, an owl arrived at our door with an invitation for my oldest daughter. It was for a Harry Potter birthday party! The invitation is so clever and delightful, I had to share it with you. (I kind of wish I had been invited!)

This theme reminded me of when my sister got married, and we were looking at book-themed weddings. I wish I had thought of that when I got married, but alas, I didn’t.

What other book-themed parties have you seen executed expertly?

  1. What a clever idea. I will have to tell my niece. Her daughter is six, so something like that would be a great idea in a few years, after she starts reading Harry.

  2. What a cute idea! Especially for an 11th birthday party, because I think that’s when Harry got his invitation to Hogwarts (?).
My younger daughter is turning 11 soon, but she’s not really into Harry Potter. Oh well. 🙂

    1. I think you’re right about the age. This is for a girl’s 12th birthday. I hope your daughter suddenly loves Harry Potter and you can throw a party like this!

  3. What a Surprise for an Invitation – Very Cleaver – love! I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, the Phantom of the Opera, Mystery – my spouse was not interested in a book theme Wedding and in the end it is about what we both wanted on our special day. I do love a good themed party though – birthday, anniversary, holiday, etc. Happy Day – Enjoy 🙂

    1. I love book themed parties! I convinced my daughter to have a Fancy Nancy party and a Little House on the Prairie party for birthdays when she was younger.

  4. I have visions of doing this for my future kids! I hope you are able to take pictures of what the actual birthday party looks like! My wedding was book-themed which was a huge dream of mine – definitely had a few harry potter books snuck in 🙂

  5. That is the most adorable idea! ❤️ I wish my daughter was old enough to be into Harry Potter just so I could plan a Potter party with that invite 😂

  6. That is an adorable invitation. The Harry Potter books also have lots of tie-ins for food and game choices. Did you know that Harry Potter’s birthday is July 31st because that is Joanne Rowling’s birthday?
