Late last night, an owl arrived at our door with an invitation for my oldest daughter. It was for a Harry Potter birthday party! The invitation is so clever and delightful, I had to share it with you. (I kind of wish I had been invited!)
This theme reminded me of when my sister got married, and we were looking at book-themed weddings. I wish I had thought of that when I got married, but alas, I didn’t.
What other book-themed parties have you seen executed expertly?
This is such a sweet idea!
Agreed!
This makes me wish I was younger or had kids. What an inventive idea!
I know, right? So so neat!
What a clever idea. I will have to tell my niece. Her daughter is six, so something like that would be a great idea in a few years, after she starts reading Harry.
Yes, that would be perfect.
Have fun.
🙂
What a cute idea! Especially for an 11th birthday party, because I think that’s when Harry got his invitation to Hogwarts (?).
My younger daughter is turning 11 soon, but she’s not really into Harry Potter. Oh well. 🙂
I think you’re right about the age. This is for a girl’s 12th birthday. I hope your daughter suddenly loves Harry Potter and you can throw a party like this!
I love it! I, too, wish I’d been invited. 🙂
I think we need to have our own adult version of this party!
What a Surprise for an Invitation – Very Cleaver – love! I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, the Phantom of the Opera, Mystery – my spouse was not interested in a book theme Wedding and in the end it is about what we both wanted on our special day. I do love a good themed party though – birthday, anniversary, holiday, etc. Happy Day – Enjoy 🙂
I love book themed parties! I convinced my daughter to have a Fancy Nancy party and a Little House on the Prairie party for birthdays when she was younger.
I have visions of doing this for my future kids! I hope you are able to take pictures of what the actual birthday party looks like! My wedding was book-themed which was a huge dream of mine – definitely had a few harry potter books snuck in 🙂
So so cool! I’m officially jealous.
Reblogged this on Snapshot and commented:
Such a cute idea!
Thanks!
What a lovely idea! 🙂
And this post is well timed. It’s Harry Potter book night tonight: http://www.harrypotter.bloomsbury.com/uk/harry-potter-book-night/
When I went into my local bookstore for a browse during my lunch break today, all the assistants were dressed up in Hogwarts robes. How fun!
That is fun! I want to go there!
There are times I’m jealous of the new generation of readers who get these awesomely themed parties.
No kidding!
OMG, these is so pretty! Amazing, I loved, really creative ❤
🙂
Well, I would love to see an Avalon’s mist themed party.
What is that?
Sorry, I meant The Mists of Avalon.
That is so clever! I’m filing that away for future use. I’m a fan of the book-themed (but not overboard) baby shower.
I totally want to copy this at some point. Baby’s shower would be cute!
How I wish I was your daughter right now.
Me too! 🙂
That is the most adorable idea! ❤️ I wish my daughter was old enough to be into Harry Potter just so I could plan a Potter party with that invite 😂
You must do this in the future!
That is an adorable invitation. The Harry Potter books also have lots of tie-ins for food and game choices. Did you know that Harry Potter’s birthday is July 31st because that is Joanne Rowling’s birthday?
I did not know that. Very cool.
This is such a lovely idea. 🙂
My daughter has some clever friends! (And her friends have clever parents.)
