On Monday, I asked you to convince me to follow your blog. I promised to pick ten, but instead I came up with fifteen! I couldn’t narrow it down, and I also followed more of you than I listed here today. I looked at every comment and every blog. Some of you caught my eye with your persuasive and funny comments. Some of you had beautiful blogs and interesting topics. Some of you have been following and commenting on my blog for a while, and it was nice to visit your blogs and find out how unique and gifted all of you are. It seemed like most of you love books as much as I do.
Here are the fifteen that caught my eye:

Please visit the original post comments if you’d like to see what these bloggers had to say about promoting themselves and to look at the other interesting blogs. So many of you responded and had great things to share; it was hard to pick just fifteen to highlight.
I’m headed to Vienna, Austria, next week to present at an academic conference. I will be sharing my research on Josephine Garis Cochran, the female inventor of the dishwasher.
I’ll also be taking a break from blogging next week. I’ll see you when I get back!
Thanks for the recommendation, that’s amazing!
Your blog seems pretty funny!
Emily, I am envious of your trip. Have a wonderful time. BTG
Thank you!
Congrats to these fifteen witty folks! Have fun in Vienna! And take a moment to relax 😉
Yes. I do need to relax. How do I do that again? 🙂
Thank you, Emily, for both the shout out and the follow. I look forward to getting to know you more and reading your wonderful reviews in the future. Have a wonderful trip!
You are most welcome. I look forward to reading more of your posts!
Thanks so much for the recommendation and for following – I’m chuffed. I look forward to reading more of your posts and getting more involved in discussion.
That sounds delightful!
Thank you so much, Emily! I shared your link on FB! I look forward to reading the blogs you found, and thank you again for the opportunity to play! May your travels be poetical!
You are most welcome! I don’t know much about poetry, so I’m looking forward to becoming more familiar with it through your blog.
Thanks so much for sharing. Safe Travels – Enjoy Your Adventure – Cannot Wait to Hear About What You Got Up To:) Happy Weekend!
Thank you! I hope to share my adventures when I get back.
Thanks for recommending my blog! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Yep! I look forward to reading more.
My goodness, thank you for the follow and for the shout-out, too! I’ve long admired your blog, so this was a definite highlight of my week. I’ve followed a few of the other blogs on this list, too. Enjoy Vienna—I hear it is incredibly beautiful!

Oh good. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the shout out and for visiting my little corner of the web. I did get quite excited when I saw I had a new follower and it was you 🙂 made my day just a little. Definitely felt like a winner. Have a fantastic and safe trip and I look forward to your next post.
Yep, no problem! I look forward to becoming better acquainted with your blog.
Thank you, Emily. I appreciate your interest and support. Enjoy your trip!
Your promotional comment was very convincing. You can show me what my life will be like in ten years? Yes, please!
This was a fun idea. I’ll take a look at these.
Enjoy!
This is a great series!
Yep!
I look forward to taking a look at the blogs you recommended. 🙂 I hope you’re having an amazing time in Austria and I look forward to hearing about your presentation at the conference! As I know you are a pianist and classical music fan, enjoy Vienna! Perhaps you’ll get time to go to a concert while you are there?
Austria is a country which I have wanted to visit for a long time, ever since I devoured my way through the Chalet School books by Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, when I was about nine or ten.
I think those books sound like something I would enjoy now! Thanks for the recommendation! Yes, there are lots of music sites here, and concerts. I haven’t been to one yet… We wanted to see Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the opera, but it isn’t playing.
This is a lovely and generous idea Emily J. and her bookshelf. Bravo!
How kind! It seems to have been a success. 🙂
Hey Emily!
I’m only seeing your blog for the first time today (you appeared in a sidebar link that suggested you based on others I follow), so I’m going to try and convince you to follow my blog right now!
Okay, let’s get started. First of all, I am a WWII veteran, so you and everyone reading this owe me BIG TIME for saving the planet in my youth.
*Ahem*
Okay, that was a lie. No more of those, I promise.
So yeah, my mission statement a couple of months ago was to “Create Something From Nothing Every Goddamn Day,” and I’m closing in on 70 posts….one for every day since I started.
Ever surf random blogs? I’d say over 50% of them simply talk about topics like “Writer’s Block” and “How to Find Inspiration!”
I’ve got some inspiration for those people, and it used to be Nike’s slogan: Just. Do. It.
Force yourself. Good things will come of it.
I have a degree in English, so I know how to write…but the most fun for me is drawing cartoons, because no one usually bothers to read anything beyond a paragraph, especially on the internet. But if you can synthesize a complete thought / joke / idea into one, two, three simple panels? It’s got it all.
I’m enjoying what I’ve seen of your blog so far.
I just…might…have to….follow you.
I hope you do follow me. It would be fun to have you join the conversation! Good luck with your blog and writing. It sounds great!
Already followed the other day.
I’m thrilled my blog SOUNDS great. 🙂
Thank you for Including my Blog in your list. It is very encouraging coming from you. I struggle to be consistent with posting, as I enjoy sharing and writing. though I don’t seem to have got into a rhythm.
You’re welcome. I hope I get to know you better through your blog.
