I’ve been nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award! Since I’m new to blogging, I’m not really sure what this is or how it works, but I have seen others boasting of their own nominations. As far as I can tell, it is essentially a chain letter for blogging, but I was a child of the 1980s and loved chain letters, so I’m not complaining! And thanks to Off Duty Mom for nominating me.
As part of my duties, I must now nominate 15 bloggers that have impressed me. I must admit that I am completely impressed. Before I started blogging, I thought it was just a pastime for bored people who liked to post pictures of their kids or vacations for friends or family to see. How ignorant I was! I have found a whole new world of friends, ideas, camaraderie, and fantastic writing since I began my blog in January 2012. Here are the blogs that I nominate for The Versatile Blogger Award because they rock!
A Mother, A Daughter, and 100 Books
Literary Relevance in the Modern Day
If you are nominated, you need to pay it forward by thanking the blogger who nominated you and including a link to their blog, nominating 15 blogs that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly, including a link to The Versatile Blogger Award site, and telling seven things about yourself.
Here are seven things about me:
I hate crowds.
Nap time is sacred time.
I eat the same thing for breakfast every morning: whole wheat toast with peanut butter, honey, and bananas on top with a glass of two-percent chocolate milk (just a little Nesquick powder mixed in).
I’m obsessed with dental hygiene.
I hate cleaning my bathrooms.
I frequently make rice pudding, one of my favorite desserts, and it is frequently tossed out by my husband who thinks he’s getting rid of rotten enchiladas. (It doesn’t look THAT bad!)
I love to do family history research.
Again, thank you to Off Duty Mom for this fun award.
Congratulations, Emily! Your writing is remarkable and deserves recognition. All the best as you write your way forward. And thank you for recognizing Persephone Writes. I appreciate that very much.
Cheers!
Thank you!
Congratulations, you should be proud! I think peer-nominated “awards” always hold more weight than those decided by a selective group of graybeards in a dusty room full of velvet armchairs. There’s just something so satisfying about being recognized for your work by others who really know what you’re doing because they’re on the ground doing similar work themselves.
Good point!
Woo! I made it!
You have my thanks!
It seems like a bit of work trying to get that all around and repaying the favor, but rest assured, I will do my best. 🙂
It is time consuming, but fun. I’m glad I found your blog!
Hi Emily…That’s a great accomplishment. I can’t wait to dive into your blog. Thank you for following my design blog. I’ve a personal one as well if you’re interested. Will certainly see you more in these comments. 🙂
Thank you! I’m excited to follow your blog.
